Start-up Idea

“HangzoThûl” the handloom brand started during March 2019 intending to produce unique, modern handloom products while promoting women empowerment and focus on addressing youth unemployment in Northeast. The enterprise ships their products all over northeast states and different parts of India and abroad as well. They produce puan (wraparound) which is in great demand amongst tribal women along with a variety of product line coming which include bags, shawls, runners and home deco, some of them are soon to be available on the market.

The enterprise also works with multiple individual handloom owners, creating opportunities, collaborating with them to produce handwoven goods. Currently, 30-40 weavers are working on backstrap loom and shuttle looms
