Start-up Idea

Lagstal aims to contribute to a more sustainable future where being environmentally and socially responsible goes hand in hand with running a profitable business.  Sustainability is at the core of its business activity. By finding alternatives to plastic in the form of recycled papers and bamboo products, Lagstalstrives to create a positive impact on the environment and our daily lives.

Chimi Ongmu Bhutia- Founder 

Chimi believes in entrepreneurship that is pro-nature and environment friendly. Her work uses local resources in terms of raw materials and local workforce. Local artisans are encouraged to make use of their traditional knowledge.  Chimi has a background in Fashion Designing from National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Kolkata. Lagstal is currently working with almost 70 rural artisans around Sikkim and other NE Region.  The brand has established a clear scheme of helping the environment and support to grassroots artisans and skilling them.
