The startup developed a battery-operated paddy transplanter for small farm mechanization. They got some initial financial help from Assam Science and Technology and developed a prototype of the machine. The company has started working on several such high-end agricultural tools and also livestock housing for the benefit of the farming community.

Start-up Idea

Amar Jyoti Chamuah, have been jumping jobs frequently from the start of his career to start a business on his own. Having worked at several organizations he felt he can take the risk to take a leap of faith and venture into entrepreneurship. With an education background in Agriculture (MSc) and hobbyist farmer, he saw a big gap in the mechanisation of farming, particularly for the small and medium farmers. However, becoming a producer of machines required an enormous investment and expertise in engineering. He tied up with his brother, a mechanical engineer and started working on a battery-operated paddy transplanter. They were successful in the effort to get some financial help from Assam Science and Technology and developed the machine. The field trials have been very encouraging and have orders pouring in from the spectators. He registered “Chamuah Engineering and Machineries Pvt. Ltd.” in February 2020, with a vision to make highly efficient tools and agriculture machinery. The company has started working on several such high-end agricultural tools and also livestock housing for the benefit of the farming community. It has plans to venture into the neighbouringcountries in the coming years.
